Stellarium User Guide
One thing that a lot of in-development open source software lacks is decent end-user documentation. Well, here's my effort to write some documentation. I hope it is some use!
The guide is available is several formats:
| Language | Format | Notes | |
| English (v0.9.1) | This version is ideal for printing, and so far has proven the most popular format. | ||
| English (v0.9.1) | Online HTML | For those who prefer HTML to PDF. | |
| English (v0.9.1) | HTML tarball | Download the HTML in a tar archive for offline viewing. | |
| Multiple | LyX (editable document) | This link: https://stellarium.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/stellarium/trunk/stellarium_user_guide ...may be used with a Subversion client to download the document source, SVG versions of diagrams, PNG versions of screenshots and so on. | |
| Russian (v0.8.2 - v0.9.0) | Russian translation by Andrew Senin. This version is mostly for 0.8.2 but there might be a few changes which apply only to the SVN development version of Stellarium in here too. | ||
| Spanish (v0.8.2 - v0.9.0) | Partial Spanish translation by Astronemesis (work in progress). This version is mostly for 0.8.2 but there might be a few changes which apply only to the SVN development version of Stellarium in here too. | ||
| French (v0.7.1) | Provisional version - not released yet (some formatting issues). | ||
| French (v0.7.1) | Online HTML | Provisional version. Internal links may change until the final release. | |
| French (v0.7.1) | HTML tarball | Provisional version. | |
| French (v0.7.1) | LyX Source | You can check out the most recent version of the guide from the sourceforge CVS. Note that to generate the other versions from the source files, you'll need LyX, Inkscape, Latex2html, GNU make and other GNU command line tools (find, sed etc.) | |
| Italian (v0.7.1) | OpenOffice | This is a provisional version. Still needs proper formatting - addition of proper styles for headings (and thus auto-genereation of TOC), index entries etc. Also need to externalise the images if possible, make Italian SVGs for diagrams etc. |
Enjoy!
